- The extended spindle, low profile cutting head, and flush-mounted blade of this saw allow it to cut all the way against the inner wall of a toe-kick for removing old wood underlayment or wood flooring using carbide blade. You can also cut in to ceramic or porcelain tile using the diamond blade. Saw has a fixed cutting depth of 3/4" deep. Saves time and serious hard work!
- Additional Rental Items Needed For The Saw:
- Rental of Carbide Blade (For Wood): $8.00 Per Day / $32.00 Per Week
- Rental of Diamond Blade (For Ceramic, Porcelain) {BLADE NOT INTENDED TO CUT WOOD OR CONCRETE BACKER BOARD}: $12.00 Per Day / $48.00 Per Week
- COMMON PROBLEM AND SOLUTION:
- 1. If both blades are needed & you need to change blades, allen wrench provided in the carrying case can be used to remove the screw (Note: Saw has an arbor lock on it), so you can take the blade off. Please (if needed)reference first picture &/or instructions(in case) of how blade should look when mounted on saw (Order of assembly: blade driver with mounts facing out, next blade attached to the mounts (be sure you use the right set of holes on blade), & finally reinstall screw to hold blade in place.
- 2. If What You Are Cutting Or The Depth You Want To Cut Is Less than 3/4" Thick:
- -Using Carbide Blade: The manufacture suggests nailing down a strip of what you are cutting the width of the saw to adjust the cutting depth.
- -Using Diamond Blade: Manufacture suggests laying down underlayment or plywood at least the width of the saw so that the diamond blade cuts only to a depth corresponding to the thickness of the tile. (BLADE NOT INTENDED TO CUT IN TO WOOD OR BACKER BOARD)
- 3. Saw is intended to only cut forward & not intended to cut curves
- TROUBLESHOOTING
- Diamond Blade Getting Hot
- -Blade is air cooled, periodically (Cutting distance of 6' maximum) you will need to pull out of the cut, and let the blade cool down.
- -Blade could be glazed, blade not intended to cut backer board or wood. You may be able to deglaze the blade if you have a cinder block or similar item & use the saw & blade to cut in to this material.
